Iliana Montauk is the director of Gaza Sky Geeks, the first start-up accelerator in Gaza. It was launched in 2011 by the global humanitarian organization Mercy Corps, with a generous one-time grant from Google.org. Initially, the program provided competitions and technology entrepreneurship training, but in the last year, it has ramped up its efforts as an accelerator, bringing in the first private international start-up investment to Gaza and promoting greater start-up leadership by women.
