Iván Torre is Senior Economist in the World Bank's Office of the Chief Economist, Europe and Central Asia Region. His work focuses on inequality, human development, and political economy. Prior to joining the World Bank he worked as consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank. He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Universidad de Buenos Aires and holds a PhD in economics from Sciences Po, Paris
