Prof. Jamal Saghir is currently Professor of Practice at the Institute for the Study of International Development at McGill University. He is an economist and expert in infrastructure, energy, and economic development with over 25 years of experience at the World Bank Group directing various department related to energy and infrastructure, water, transport, agriculture and rural development, environment, and climate change. He currently serves as Member of the Board and Senior Advisor at the Global Center for Adaptation (The Netherlands). He is also Senior Fellow at the Payne Institute at the Colorado School of Mines (USA), and Distinguished Fellow for Economics and Development at the American University of Beirut (Lebanon).
He also sits on the Advisory Committee of the Climate/SDGs Debt Swap Mechanism at UN-ESCWA, as well as several corporate Boards worldwide. He has contributed to over 60 publications, essays and books.
