Governance and Justice Specialist

Jared Schott is a Governance and Justice Specialist in the World Bank’s Governance Global Practice, where his work focuses on inclusive governance, natural resources and rights-sensitive development. Prior to joining the World Bank, Mr. Schott covered economic affairs, rule of law and security portfolios as a Special Advisor to the Minister of Justice of Liberia, and subsequently with the UNMIL’s Office of the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General, Rule of Law.  Previously, Mr. Schott practiced law at Latham &Watkins LLP; served as a legal advisor to the Permanent Mission of Palau to the U.N. on human rights, development and peacekeeping matters; and worked with NGOs in Kosovo on justice reform.  Mr. Schott graduated from Stanford University in 2003 with distinction and interdisciplinary honors from its Center for International Security and Cooperation.  He received his J.D. (’06) and LL.M. (’07) from New York University School of Law, where he was a Dean’s Scholar and Junior Fellow at the Institute for International Law and Justice.
