Jean Paul Velez is currently a member of the Transport and ICT Global Practice at the World Bank, focusing on the development of sustainable urban transport solutions in East Asia and the Pacific, particularly in China, Vietnam and Mongolia. Before joining the Bank, Jean Paul worked at the Inter-American Development Bank in transportation projects in Latin America and the Caribbean, and as an independent consultant and researcher for different NGOs and academic institutions. Jean Paul has a master's degree in Urban Planning and International Area Studies, from the University of California, Berkeley, and undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia.
