Jouni Välijärvi is a professor at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. Since 1996, he has served as director of the Finnish Institute for Educational Research. He has also been the National Project Manager of the OECD PISA since 1998 and represented Finland in the IEA since 1996 and as a member of many expert groups in the OECD, the European Union, the Ministry of Education, the National Board of Education, the Finnish Teacher Union, and the Council of Finnish Municipalities.
