Lakshmi Iyer is a professor of economics at the University of Notre Dame. Her primary research fields are development economics and political economy. She has studied the economic determinants of conflict, the impact of minority political representation, women’s political participation and property rights institutions in several developing countries including India, Vietnam, China, the Philippines and Myanmar.
