Louise Fox is a university lecturer and a consultant in development economics, specializing in employment, labor markets, social service delivery, and poverty reduction. After receiving her Ph.D in 1982, Louise had a distinguished 29 year career at the World Bank, where she advised governments in Africa, Latin America, Asia and Eastern Europe on how to develop, implement, and evaluate effective policies for employment, social security, and poverty reduction. She has published in the areas of youth employment, labor markets, and labor regulation and effective programs for poverty reduction in Africa; in transition economies, on poverty, inequality, and inclusive growth, and reform of social security and child welfare systems; and more broadly on public expenditures and service delivery in developing countries. In addition to teaching the next generation of development specialists, she consults for international development agencies and foundations.
