Mariana has over 15 years of experience in infrastructure and sustainable finance. She began her career in investment banking in Hong Kong and later transitioned into the policy arena. Throughout the past decade, Mariana has worked as an infrastructure finance expert for organizations such as Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), the International Institute for Sustainable Development, the InterAmerican Development Bank, and presently at the Global Infrastructure Facility (GIF) at the World Bank. Her focus has been providing technical advisory services to governments across Asia, Latin America, and Europe, assisting them in developing infrastructure procurement processes that foster economic growth, social justice, and environmental stewardship. Mariana's expertise lies in infrastructure asset capitalization, particularly in project finance and public-private partnerships (PPPs).

A native of Mexico, Mariana has lived in Switzerland, Germany, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, and presently the United States. She has a Master's degree (Hons) in International Banking and Finance from Hong Kong Lignan University and is fluent in English, German, French, and Spanish.
