Mr. Markie Muryawan is presently heading the Trade Statistics Section at the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD). In his role, he's responsible for overseeing the methodology and statistical classification of trade statistics, managing the data in the UN Comtrade database, organizing capacity-building activities for international trade statistics, and coordinating with other organizations. Along with trade statistics, Mr. Muryawan is actively engaged in exploring the topics of Globalization, Digitalization, and Big Data for Official Statistics. Currently, he's leading the task team on AIS (ship tracking) data.
