Nadege Desiree Yameogo is a Senior Economist at the Jobs Global Practice of World Bank Group –(GPSJB). In the Migration and Remittance team, she manages two thematic working groups of the Global Knowledge Partnership on Migration and Development (KNOMAD) - namely, Internal Migration and Urbanization andEnvironmental Change and Migration, in addition of being in charge of the SSA, North Africa and High income European regions. Prior to joining the World Bank, she worked as Senior Research Economist at the African Development Bank, in the Research Department and in the Office of the President. She also worked as an Associate Economist at Analysis Group Inc. in Montreal Canada, and a lecturer at Laval University, Quebec Canada. She holds a PhD degree with honor in economics from Laval University, a graduate Diploma from the Interuniversity Postgraduate Program in Economics for French Speaking African countries (DEA/PTCI), and a Master degree from the University of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Nadege is specialized in econometrics, natural resource and environmental economics, and development economics. She has co-authored a book on Urbanization and socio-economic development in Africa: challenges and opportunities – published in Routledge. She published several papers in well-known economic journals such as Resource and Energy Economics and Journal of Food Policy. She was the team leader of the African Development Report 2015 Edition on “Growth-poverty and inequality nexus: overcoming barriers to sustainable development in Africa”, a flagship report of the African Development Bank Group. Her current research interests include urbanization, diaspora and development economics, economic diversification and sophistication, and natural resource economics.
