Nathaniel King is a consultant researcher with the World Bank’s Justice for the Poor Program for which he researches and analyzes how mining promotes development, good governance and conflict prevention/management at host and neighbouring community levels. He holds a Ph.D in Social Anthropology from the Martin Luther University in Germany. His research interests include the extractives industry, development at community level, nationhood and sub-national identities, education, youth as a strategic space, and power and powerlessness as resources. Nathaniel King is also a Max Planck Research Associate.
