Philip Martin is a Professor in Agricultural Economics in University of California, Davis (http://martin.ucdavis.edu) who began to work on labor migration in the US government in the late 1970s and has conducted research and published widely on labor migration systems around the world. He has been editing Migration News (http://migration.ucdavis.edu) since 1994, which provides a summary and analysis of migration developments around the world, including the countries that are the focus of this project.
