Robin Mearns is Practice Manager for Social Sustainability and Inclusion in South Asia Region for the World Bank. Previous positions in the Bank have included Practice Manager for Social Development in Africa Region; Sector/Program Leader for Sustainable Development covering Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi; and Global Lead for the Social Dimensions of Climate Change. A geographer and environmental economist by training (MA, PhD Cambridge; MPhil Sussex), he has published widely on a range of topics in sustainable development. Prior to joining the Bankhe held research and teaching positions at the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex, and International Institute for Environment and Development, London.
