Shilpa is based in New Delhi, India, and is part of the External Affairs and Communications team for the South Asia Region of the World Bank. She specializes in results communication, digital and partnership engagement along with broader support to the team's strategy and implementation goals. She previously worked in Dhaka, Bangladesh and across the World Bank Group in different sectors and regions. Before joining the Bank, Shilpa was a journalist for more than 8 years in the US and in India. She has a Masters in Journalism from Boston University and an undergraduate degree in History from Delhi University. Shilpa has a keen interest in education, gender, and the role of media in development.
