Sjamsu Rahardja

Senior Economist, Trade and Competitiveness

Sjamsu Rahardja, is a senior economist for the World Bank Trade and Competitiveness Unit, and now living in Myanmar, leading the World Bank Group country program on trade facilitation and logistics.
 
He joined the East Asia Pacific unit of the Bank in Washington DC in 2004 before moving to work for the World Bank office in Indonesia.
 
Prior to joining the World Bank, Mr. Rahardja was a visiting fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics and the International Food and Policy and Research Institute, both in Washington DC. He also worked for the Institute for Economics and Social Research of the University of Indonesia.
 
His work interests are on international trade, trade logistics, and political economy of trade reforms.
 
He is married to Sondang Sirait-Rahardja and has 2 children.
