Uraidah Hassani, a Dutch national, provides technical, operational, and policy dialogue support to country and project teams to identify and act on multi-sectoral opportunities to advance women’s and girls’ empowerment. She is currently supporting the World Bank financed Sahel Women’s Empowerment and Demographic Dividend (SWEDD) Project and the Social Protection and Skills Development Project in São Tomé and Príncipe.

Prior to joining the World Bank, Uraidah designed and managed impactful safe spaces and life skills program for adolescent girls in the poorest congressional districts in the U.S., researched the impact of empowering adolescent girls affected by conflict, and integrated gender considerations into peacebuilding interventions in post-conflict Sri Lanka.

Uraidah received her Master of Science in Foreign Service concentrating in International Development from Georgetown University and her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from New York University.
