Ban Edilbi is an urban specialist working in the World Bank’s Urban, Disaster Risk Management, Resilience and Land Global Practice for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region. Her areas of expertise include urban design, city resilience and cultural and natural heritage. Prior to joining the World Bank, she worked at UNESCO’s World Heritage Centre to increase awareness of the impacts of climate change, and with UN-Habitat’s Urban Lab in Nairobi, Kenya on addressing sustainable urban development challenges such as urban sprawl, basic services provision, resilience, climate change and migration. She has a Master's degree in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University in the City of New York, and a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the University of Bath, United Kingdom.
