Donna (Dawoon) Chung is Senior Program Officer with the Fragility, Conflict and Violence (FCV) Group of the World Bank. Operating out of Seoul, Donna supports several countries in the region as an FCV country coordinator. She also co-manages a pilot advisory project operationalizing the Famine Action Mechanism (FAM) at the country-level in five highly food insecure countries. Donna came to the FCV Group from the International Finance Corporation’s (IFC) program supporting efforts to expand IFC’s footprint in Sub-Saharan African fragile and conflict-affected countries.
Prior to joining the World Bank Group, she worked with the UN Secretariat in New York for more than eight years for the Global Compact Office on conflict-sensitive private-sector operations in high-risk areas and public-private partnerships on anti-corruption and governance reforms in emerging markets. Donna has also worked with global NGOs and private firms such as Search for Common Ground and Arabesque Asset Management She has written reports, policy publications and peer-reviewed articles on conflict sensitivity, good governance, and partnerships with the private sector for environmental, social and governance standards. She received her doctorate in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom.
