Gian Boeddu is a Senior Financial Sector Specialist in the Responsible Financial Access team within the Finance, Competitiveness & Innovation Global Practice at the World Bank. Gian is an experienced financial services regulatory lawyer and at the World Bank he works primarily on financial consumer protection, market conduct and data protection policy development, regulatory reforms, capacity-building activities and related global knowledge products. Prior to joining the World Bank he was a Special Counsel in financial services regulation at the law firm of King & Wood Mallesons, based in Australia, advising private and public sector clients in the areas of financial consumer protection, anti-money laundering and combating financing of terrorism, data privacy and credit reporting. He also previously worked at a major commercial bank as a senior lawyer advising on financial services regulation. Gian has a Masters of Laws and a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce.
