John Dearborn serves as a Food Security Analyst within the Food and Nutrition Security team of the Agriculture and Food Global Engagement Unit at the World Bank. Since he began working with the Global Engagement Unit in February 2020, he has played a crucial role in various initiatives, including the development of the biweekly World Bank Food Security Updates and the establishment of the Global Alliance for Food Security (GAFS) Food and Nutrition Security Dashboard. In his capacity, John addresses complex challenges in global food security, offering timely and effective solutions to emerging food crises. His role encompasses strategic analysis, data visualization, and collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing global food and nutrition security.
Before joining the Global Engagement Unit, John pursued his education at Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, earning a Master’s degree in Global Human Development with a specialization in Food Security, Agriculture, and Rural Livelihoods. His career in international development took root as he volunteered with the Peace Corps in Benin, where he served as an Agriculture Extension Agent.
