Lisandro Martín is the Director of the Outcomes Department in the Senior Managing Director's Office at the World Bank Group (WBG), based in Washington, D.C. In this role, he is leading the development of a bold new vision for outcomes measurement across the organization. As head of a newly formed joint WBG department, Lisandro is driving efforts to embed outcome orientation throughout the WBG, providing thought leadership on results measurement approaches, and overseeing the management and refinement of the WBG Scorecard. He oversees the setting of outcome targets, building of internal and external capacity on results, and approaches to measuring outcomes across critical cross-cutting themes, such as climate, gender, jobs, and private sector capital mobilization.
In addition to advancing a culture of outcomes within the WBG, Lisandro plays a crucial role in representing the WBG externally in the results space. He engages with multilateral development banks (MDBs) and key partners to align on common metrics and approaches, and leads the secretariat for influential external advisory bodies, such as the high-level Jobs Council, ensuring that the Jobs agenda is integrated into all WBG operations.
Lisandro has over two decades of experience in the WBG, in operations and strengthening results measurement. He has also served in several leadership positions at the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), contributing to the organization’s impact and results. Earlier in his career he also worked at the African Development Bank on operations and impact measurement.
Lisandro holds a Master’s degree in Public Affairs from the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, where he was a Fulbright Scholar.
