Şebnem has over 20 years of experience in structured credit markets (including infrastructure bonds, project finance, bridge loans, mezzanine, and asset-backed securities) working closely with issuers, institutional investors, commercial banks, and rating agencies in designing, underwriting, and placing innovative finance solutions. At the World Bank, she serves as a Practice Manager for the IPG group, which works with government clients and commercial counterparts to develop programmatic approaches to mobilizing private capital for climate-smart infrastructure projects through financial structuring, targeted credit enhancements, and technical assistance. IPG also houses the World Bank’s guarantees program.
Prior to joining the World Bank, Şebnem was a Managing Director at Nomura and previously at Deutsche Bank. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Boğaziçi University in Istanbul and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
