Professor Adeeba Kamarulzaman is presently the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya and Adjunct Associate Professor at Yale University, USA.

Dr Adeeba established the Infectious Diseases Unit at the University of Malaya Medical Centre, now one of Malaysia’s leading infectious disease and HIV and HIV/AIDS tertiary referral centers, as well as the Centre of Excellence for Research in AIDS (CERiA) at the University of Malaya. She is presently an Executive Committee Member of the International AIDS Society and is a member of the UNAIDS Scientific Expert Panel on HIV and has had numerous consultation roles with both the WHO and UNAIDS. In April 2015 she was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Laws from her alma mater Monash University for her outstanding achievements in the field of Infectious Diseases and as a health advocate.
