Céline Zarina Mersch is currently a Senior CRRF Officer at UNHCR’s Regional Office in Nairobi, Kenya. Previously, as an Advisor to the Board of the World Bank Group during the IDA18 cycle, she advocated for more prominence of the displacement agenda. Throughout her postings in Africa with the UN World Food Programme she gained operational experience on project design and implementation in both humanitarian and development contexts. Prior to this, she served as an Attachée at the Permanent Mission of Luxembourg in New York working on the peace, security and development nexus. She holds a Maîtrise in International Law from the University of Panthéon-Assas, Paris II and a joint European Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Democratisation from the University College of Dublin, Ireland and University of Padua, Italy.
