Lead Economist, Trade & Competitiveness Global Practice, World Bank Group
Denis Medvedev is a lead economist in the Innovation and Entrepreneurship unit of the Trade & Competitiveness Global Practice of the World Bank Group. Prior to this position, he served as the Senior Country Economist for India, and has also worked in the Latin America & Caribbean and Africa regions, as well as in the Development Prospects group. He is an author of more than 30 peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, World Bank reports, and working papers. His research interests span a range of subjects, including firm productivity, international trade, income distribution dynamics, the Sustainable Development Goals and climate change. Based in Washington, he holds a Ph.D. from the American University.
