Emiko Naomasa is an economist in the Development Economics Vice Presidency office of the World Bank. Her specializations include agricultural economics and natural resource management. She also has extensive experience in macroeconomic monitoring and sovereign risk assessment. Prior to joining the World Bank, she was an economist at the Japan Bank for International Cooperation, where she was responsible for analyzing fiscal policies and sovereign credit risks in European and North African countries. She received her PhD in economics from the University of Hawaii; in the meantime, she was a research student fellow at the International Rice Research Institute in the Philippines.
