Hiromi Akiyama is a Research Consultant specialized in disaster preparedness and response, post-disaster reconstruction, and community engagement in urban development. At the World Bank since 2020, she supports analysis, knowledge management and exchange on disaster risk management and resilience. She holds a PhD in Political Science from George Mason University.
