John Meara is Kletjian Professor of Global Surgery in the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine, Professor of Surgery, and Director of the Program in Global Surgery and Social Change at Harvard Medical School. He is Plastic Surgeon-in-Chief in the Department of Plastic and Oral Surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital; Co-director of the Paul Farmer Global Surgery Fellowship Program; and Chair of The Lancet Commission on Global Surgery. He is Vice-Chair of the American College of Surgeons Health Policy Advisory Group.
