Karol Karpinski is a Senior Financial Sector Specialist in the Finance, Competitiveness and Innovation Global Practice, based in Washington, DC. In his current role, Karol focuses on the development of payment systems and financial market infrastructures, providing support to dozens of central banks, financial regulators and other institutions responsible for operation and oversight of payment, clearing and settlement systems. In addition to that, he works with colleagues across the World Bank Group on modernizing government payment processes. Prior to that, he worked at the World Bank's country office in Dhaka, Bangladesh, contributing to the implementation of social protection programs.
