Katie Peters provides technical and analytical support to the GFDRR Disaster-Fragility, Conflict and Violence (FCV) Program, which seeks to scale up development finance for disaster risk management (DRM) in conflict contexts. She is an independent consultant with over 20 years of experience specializing in the intersection of DRM, climate change, peace and conflict. Katie worked for over a decade as a Senior Research Fellow at the ODI, a world-leading research think tank on development and humanitarian issues, where she authored over 60 publications. As a researcher and technical advisor, Katie has conducted fieldwork in over 17 countries, and has been a Principal Researcher and technical advisor supporting the governments of the UK, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, and Japan. Katie has led research collaborations with an extensive range of UN agencies, and international development banks, and was Deputy Director of a £120 million Knowledge Management consortium working with over 120 non-governmental organizations.
