Kristiana has close to 15 years of experience in international relations and political science. Prior to joining the Deetken Group in late 2015, she spent eight years with the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations and the Department of Political Affairs where her work focused on security sector reform, unconventional threats and conflict prevention. Although based out of the UN’s headquarters in New York, Kristiana undertook extended deployments to West, Central and East Africa and to Haiti. Before joining the UN, Kristiana worked as a conflict prevention researcher with The North-South Institute in Ottawa. Kristiana holds a BA in Arts and Science from McMaster University and an MA in International Relations from the University of Toronto.
