Leela Raina, is an Economist with the Environment Natural Resources and Blue Economy Global Practice. She has worked across Africa and Asia (including a field assignment in Jakarta) on policy, incentives and investments for climate change action, natural resource management, food security and renewable energy. She currently focuses on shaping green COVID recovery in Central Asia. Leela holds a Green Finance Specialist certification from RENAC, Berlin, a Master’s degree in Environmental Economics and Climate Change from London School of Economics and Political Science, UK, and is a KPMG scholarship awardee for her undergraduate degree in Economics from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi. Prior to joining the Bank, she has worked for Climate Policy Initiative supporting Ministry of Finance of Indonesia, as an Economist with the International Climate Finance team at Department for Energy and Climate Change, UK Government; the Renewable Energy Development Agency, Government of Punjab, India; and with youth constituency, as the lead youth negotiator for climate finance to UNFCCC to the Copenhagen and Cancun negotiations.
