Leonardo Canon Rubiano

Leonardo Canon is currently a member of Transport and ICT Global Practice at the World Bank, focusing on the development of sustainable urban mobility projects for the Latin America and the Caribbean region. Leonardo is currently working with the World Bank at the Bogota Country Office, focusing on the Bank's portfolio in Colombia, in particular in transit projects in Bogotá, Bucaramanga, Medellin, Pereira, Sincelejo and Valledupar. He previously worked with the Bank in Washington, DC as a junior professional associate on urban transport, innovation and sustainable mobility. Leonardo has key experience in academia (research assistant at UCL), in the private sector (Transconsult-Mexico) and at the World Bank has been involved in structuring and evaluation of sustainable urban transport infrastructure in Vietnam, Mexico, Brazil , Peru, Ecuador and Colombia, low carbon city development, transit and non-motorized urban transport. Leonardo has master's degree in Urban Planning and Development, University College London, and undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia.
