Pui Shen Yoong is an Economist and a Young Professional in the World Bank’s Macroeconomics, Trade and Investment Global Practice in South Asia. She works on macroeconomic monitoring and forecasting, public expenditure reviews and subnational growth/fiscal challenges. Previously, Shen was based in Jakarta, Indonesia, where she worked closely with Ministry of Finance officials to drive evidence-based fiscal policy decisions. She has also worked in the World Bank’s country offices in Brazil and in her native Malaysia. Shen holds a Master’s in International Economics and Latin American Studies from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a BA from Middlebury College, USA.
