Ramadan Hamed is a senior research scientist at the social research center of the American University in Cairo. In addition , he is a Professor of Statistics at Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University. He received his Ph.D. from Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University, majoring in statistics He has more than 30 years' experience in designing and directing sample surveys in different social research areas . He was a principal investigator of several studies and sample surveys on woman empowerment, gender equity, health, population, investment, poverty and others. In the last five years he directed (co-directed) the following studies: Salheya Initiative for Women's Economic Empowerment (201-2015), Safe cities free of violence against women and girls (2009-2014), and Gender Equity Model (2007-2010)
