Senior Financial Sector Specialist
Siegfried Zottel is a Senior Financial Sector Specialist in the Finance and Markets Global Practice of the World Bank Group, where he has spearheaded the development of a growing Financial Capability/Literacy work program, including the development of leading edge material on financial capability measurement, and the design and implementation of Financial Capability and Inclusion Surveys of Individuals and enterprises in more than 10 countries around the world. In this capacity, Siegfried has supported various authorities in their efforts to design national financial capability strategies and helped to build capacity within government institutions to effectively design, test, deliver, and monitor their financial capability programs. He has led innovative financial capability programs in West African countries to promote long-term savings and support adoption of digital financial services. In addition, he has co-led financial consumer protection programs in the Kyrgyz Republic and Zimbabwe, as well as the development of a comprehensive financial inclusion advisory service program in Zambia. Siegfried has also published on survey methodological issues.
