Suzette Johnson

Director, Policy Research Planning Institute of Jamaica

Suzette Johnson is Director of Policy Research within the Social Policy Planning and Research Division of the Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ). She has been with the PIOJ for over twelve years and is responsible for producing socio-economic research in important areas affecting Jamaica’s development to inform and guide policy. This includes the production of the Jamaica Survey of Living Conditions, an annual household survey that monitors the living standards of the population. She is also an experienced programme manager and educator who has served the PIOJ as Project Coordinator with the Community Renewal Programme, and Lecturer (part-time) at the Northern Caribbean University.  

Mrs. Johnson is Jamaican, and holds a Master of Public Health Degree in Health Promotion/Health Education from the University of the West Indies, Mona; a Batchelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology from Northern Caribbean University; and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education and Training from the Vocational Training and Development Institute.
