Thank you for your interest in the World Bank SMART program. The application process is now closed and short-listed candidates have been contacted. Response to our invitation to talented young Arabic speakers to join our team here in the Middle East and North Africa region of the World Bank has been tremendous. Thank you! We are excited to see such an enthusiasm for working on development matters in MENA. We are processing all the enquiries and because there are so many, it's quite a task.

Let me share with you a few more tips for managing your application to the SMART (Strategic MNA Arabic Recruitment of Talent) program. And if there are other qualified candidates seeing this for the first time, don't be put off by the numbers. Let us know who you are.
So, my tips:

There is no on-line application. Candidates should submit their application letters and resume to Christiane Youakim cyouakim@worldbank.org.

Only resumes and application letters written in English language will be considered.

Candidates should have a post-graduate degree (Masters or PhD) and a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience.

Selected candidates will be offered a one year renewable term appointment.

Eligible candidates must be 35 years old or less.

The positions that will be offered through the SMART program will be Washington-based.

Only applicants who get short-listed will be contacted.
