The World Bank and infoDev have recently published a book on the Global Opportunity in IT-Based Services. With a $500 billion addressable market (out of which only about 30% is being realized in 2010), this industry represent a huge opportunity for developing countries.
The book features the "Location Readiness Index", a diagnostic tool that may help countries analyze their strengths and weaknesses in the industry. Overall, one of the main findings is that, given the right business enabling environment, it is the quality of the labor pool what matters the most.
