The internet provides a unique marketing opportunity for small firms, though setting up even the most basic Web site can be too expensive for most – until now.
Public Interest Registry (PIR), the U.S.-based administrator of the Internet’s .org domain, is offering Web addresses in parts of the developing world for just $1 per year... Since launching the offer in July, PIR has seen a 25 percent increase in .org registrations in India alone… The $1 addresses may soon be made available to other developing countries, meaning the Web is about to get a little more worldwide.
