Developing countries are expected to account for a robust 11 percent per year rise in technology product sales over the next five years. The largest growth trends are expected for mobile phones. While mobile subscribers in India are projected to grow from just 17 million to 100 million over the next four years, in Africa they will rise from 67 million to 250 million. Computer shipments, too, are poised to grow at an extraordinary rate in the Asia Pacific region—at 12 percent from 2005 to 2009 according to IDC—with developing countries making up the majority of destinations.
