Deepak Lal, poverty and the invisible hand

This page in:

Deepaklal_1I just received a copy of (former-World Banker) Deepak Lal’s latest book, “Reviving the Invisible Hand: The Case for Classical Liberalism in the Twenty-first Century.” Needless to say, the title doesn’t try to hide his liberalism and optimism regarding globalization. A quick glance shows that at the end of chapter 5 he argues that the World Bank should be shut-down and that “foreign aid is an idea whose time has passed.” Hmm… I’m sure I’ll have more comments on that once I read the whole thing. The introduction is available online.
