This is perhaps related to PSD only indirectly, but I couldn't help posting this picture of an intersection in Manchester during rush hour. Notice anything missing? I have to admit my initial amazement at the empty streets, but perhaps people can kick the driving habit if gas prices go high enough. The Manchester Evening News had this to say:
Traffic analysts confirmed there has been a dramatic fall in the number of cars on the region's roads as the price of unleaded petrol heads towards £1.20 a litre.
For developing countries that are suffering the ill effects of climate change, this is a very small piece of good news.
