The world is still round

Energy_consumption_globeHow would you represent the social and economic challenges of development in 3D? German artist Ingo Gunther's answers the challenge beautifully with a collection of globes. Each globe treats one aspect of development - such as FDI flows, capital market maturity, life expectancy, even Doing Business rankings. The artist will be at the IFC on Monday afternoon to unveil a set of 15 IFC-commissioned globes. The collection will spend a week in DC then travel to IFC offices in Brazil, India, Bangladesh, Singapore, Russia and Ukraine.

Gunther's globes were featured in Wired magazine last year. View his 300+ works online at worldprocessor or contact Tracy Bowe to visit the DC exhibit.

Update: pictures of the IFC globes are now online.
