Abdal Mufti is a consultant with the Education Global Practice with a primary focus on Teacher Education and Professional development programs that take a holistic system-level approach to building teacher competencies through merit-based hiring, pre-service training, in-service continuous support, provision of learning material, developing communities of practice, and integrating technology to streamline teacher professional development. Abdal is also currently supporting country teams, in Asia and Africa, in designing and operationalizing system-level classroom observation and coaching-based CPD programs.
Abdal has previously worked directly with the Pakistan Government, leading the World Bank-supported Third Punjab Education Sector Reform program as Head of the Research and Policy wing at the School Education Department. Abdal holds a master’s degree in Education Leadership and Management and have been working in the education development sector for the last 10 years.
