Abidah B. Setyowati is a senior environment social scientist specializing on social dimensions of climate change, climate and natural resources governance, biodiversity conservation, nature-based climate solutions, energy governance, climate justice, climate finance, and social inclusion. She recently joined the World Bank to anchor the work on Social Dimensions of Climate Change in East Asia and the Pacific region. 

Prior to joining the Bank, Abidah has over 15 years of experience working in science-policy interface as an academic with the Australian National University and Delft University of Technology and as a senior international development practitioner providing technical advises and managing programs with multilateral and donor agencies (e.g. UNDP, USAID, FAO, UNEP, UKAid, among others) in countries in Asia and the Pacific. 

She holds PhD in Human Geography from Rutgers University and has published extensively on natural resources, energy, climate, and sustainable development.
