Abigail Schmitt is currently a Master of Public Administration candidate focusing on food security, international development, and humanitarian assistance at Cornell University’s Brooks School of Public Policy. She has previous work experience with the World Food Programme (WFP)’s Regional Bureau of Latin America and the Caribbean on the intersection of gender equality and food security as well as with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on civil-military disaster operations. Abigail also has fieldwork and research experience in Rwanda, where she analyzed the role of small-medium enterprises in addressing malnutrition and micronutrient deficiencies.
Abigail was a Fulbright Fellow in the Canary Islands from ’21-’22 and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Anthropology from Connecticut College. She is expected to complete her Master’s Degree in Public Administration (MPA) from Cornell University in May 2024.
