Adriana Damianova

Lead Environmental Specialist

Adriana Damianova is Lead Environmental Specialist in Europe and Central Asia Region, the Environment and Natural Resources Global Practice of the World Bank.  She joined the World Bank in 1994. Since then she worked in Europe and Central Asia and South Asia regions and managed lending operations and analytical and advisory services for clients in Armenia, Albania, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Poland, Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the countries of the Caspian Sea Basin.  Her areas of expertise include environmental policies and institutions, urban environment and pollution management, urban adaptation to climate change.  She led multiple team for operations focusing on urban environmental infrastructure, environmental protection and natural resources management. Prior to joining the Bank Adriana Damianova worked in architectural design, urban planning and research. She served as Head of Department in the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works of Bulgaria.
