Ahmed Ali is an Environmental Specialist with the World Bank's Environment, Natural Resources, and Blue Economy (ENB) Global Practice in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region, based in Baghdad, Iraq. Since joining the Bank in 2020, he has been involved in covering the environmental and social management of operations in Iraq and Lebanon. Additionally, he co-leads operations in the management of contaminated sites within the brown agenda and assesses environmental and social national systems. Before his tenure at the Bank, Ahmed worked as a consultant for various national and international agencies in Iraq and served as a short-term consultant (STC) with the World Bank. He holds a Ph.D., MSc., and BSc. in Environmental Engineering, demonstrating his extensive academic background in the field.
